BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – On Tuesday, at approximately 10 p.m., East Precinct Deputy Adam Weimer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Ogden Avenue in Merritt Island.

During the stop, the driver exited the vehicle, ignored the Deputy’s commands and fled on foot. As Deputy Weimer pursued the fleeing suspect, he observed the male suspect throwing a bag into the backyard of a residence.

After a brief foot pursuit, Deputy Weimer apprehended the suspect and subsequently collected the bag the suspect had previously discarded. Upon examining the contents of the bag, Deputy Weimer discovered approximately 227 grams of powder cocaine.

Following the initial traffic stop and foot pursuit, Thomas Edwin Busby was arrested by Deputy Weimer and transported to the Brevard County Jail where he was detained on a “No Bond” status for Trafficking in Cocaine.

This is another great example of the incredible work your Deputies do every day to protect our community! Please join me in congratulating Deputy Weimer on a job well done and for putting another criminal behind bars where they belong!
