BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The U.S. Department of Education named Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School as a 2017 National Blue Ribbon School. To celebrate the hard work of students, faculty and the community, Edgewood will host a celebration at the school on Dec 1.

The program recognizes public and private elementary, middle and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.

This coveted award affirms the hard work of educators, families and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging and engaging content.

On Dec. 1, afternoon classes will be suspended as the whole school and community participate in fun activities and events.

Edgewood would like to extend a huge thank you to the planning committee and the local community for making this celebration extra special, especially to Mike Erdman Motors for providing shirts, and Blue Bell and the University of West Florida for providing refreshments.

Any other businesses that would like to attend or be a part of this celebration should contact the school’s Partners in Education Coordinator at Worcester.Eryn@brevardschools.org
