Motorcyclist Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries After Sunday Afternoon Crash With Truck In Titusville

Titusville Police responded to motorcycle crash that involved a truck Sunday afternoon at the intersection of S. Washington Ave. (US-1) and the Kennedy Point Condominiums.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police responded to motorcycle crash that involved a truck Sunday afternoon at the intersection of S. Washington Ave. (US-1) and the Kennedy Point Condominiums.

Police say the crash occurred around 12 p.m. when police responded to a report of a traffic crash with injuries involving a truck and a motorcycle.

The preliminary investigation by authorities has revealed that Richard L Gavin, 71, of Christmas, was driving a Chevy Silverado 1500 truck southbound on South Washington Ave. and made a U-turn to head northbound on South Washington Ave.

Gavin failed to maintain a single lane during the U-Turn and struck a man operating a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle that was traveling Northbound on South Washington Ave.

The victim, who was not wearing a motorcycle safety helmet, was airlifted to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

Titusville Police Department are still investigating the crash and more details will be released once the investigation concludes.
