Juveniles caught at Vinings Apartments in Palm Bay

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department’s Special Operations and Patrol Division arrested three juveniles on Saturday who were tied to attempted multiple vehicle burglaries and vehicle thefts, according to police.
Police said they have arrested a 17-year-old male, 14-year-old male and a 15-year-old male after surveillance was initiated and maintained on one of the suspects.
The 17-year-old had been a known burglar to the Palm Bay Police Department, according to Lt. Mike Bandish.
The investigation revealed that the suspects were attempting to break into several cars at the Vinings apartment complex in Palm Bay, located at 1000 Palm Place Drive.
According to a release by Palm Bay police, the suspects would take turns being “lookouts” during the attempted burglary or theft of several vehicles.
After a brief foot pursuit with all three suspects, police took the juvenile suspects into custody.
“This enforcement initiative would not have been a success without the cooperation from our citizens,” said Palm Bay Police Sgt. Cliff Graves.
“I just want to thank all the citizens for locking their vehicles. All the vehicles that the juveniles attempted to get into on this night were locked.”
