Unknown Substance Found in Abandoned Bank Safety Deposit Box, BCFR HazMat Team Responds

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – An unknown substance was found in an abandoned safety deposit box on Tuesday morning at PNC Bank, located at 4350 N. Atlantic Avenue in Cocoa Beach.

Cocoa Beach police requested Brevard County Fire Rescue’s HazMat team to respond as a precaution for a safe and proper disposal.

According to Cocoa Beach Police Chief Scott Rosenfeld, the substance, which authorities did not identify, was no threat to the community.
