Cocoa police detectives are investigating a shooting in the early morning hours of Saturday in which two men were wounded in what appears to be a targeted home invasion by two unknown suspects.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA — Cocoa police detectives are investigating a shooting in the early morning hours of Saturday in which two men were wounded in what appears to be a targeted home invasion by two unknown suspects.

According to Cocoa Police Department PIO Yvonne Martinez, one victim, a white male in his 20s, was shot multiple times and is in critical condition at the hospital.

The second victim, also a white male in his 20s, was shot once and was conscious and alert on first contact.

“The shooting was reported at 2:20 a.m. at 699 Hughlett Avenue,” said Martinez.

“According to witnesses, two suspects, wearing masks, stormed into the apartment and ultimately began shooting. A neighbor who tried to intervene was also shot as the suspects fled.”

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Central Florida CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS. Callers will remain anonymous and can be eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000 in this case.
