NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Cold temperatures are expected again tonight with lows in the mid-30s across much of East Central Florida.

Diminishing winds will allow for patchy frost late in the night except along the immediate coast where temperatures should hold in the lower 40s.

Near freezing temperatures are possible around sunrise across northwest Volusia and north Lake counties as well as normally colder locations over the interior.

As a precaution, cold-sensitive plants could be covered or brought indoors.

Many home fires occur during cold weather episodes. Use caution with space heaters by keeping the heater well away from pillows, blankets and curtains.
