Palm Bay Man Arrested For Attempted Murder After Shooting Sister’s Fiancée Twice

Victim suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to police

The Palm Bay Police Department has arrested 41-year-old Kevin L Mccullough from Palm Bay for Attempted Murder near the 2800 block of Kosuth Road in Palm Bay.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The Palm Bay Police Department has arrested 41-year-old Kevin L Mccullough from Palm Bay for Attempted Murder near the 2800 block of Kosuth Road in Palm Bay.

Lt. Mike Bandish of the Palm Bay Police Department said the incident started when Mccullough got into an argument with his sister in the driveway of her house. During the argument, 58-year-old Larry Nelson, the sister’s fiance’, intervened and asked Mccullough to leave the residence.

Mccullough then attempted to strike Nelson with a closed fist, according to Lt. Bandish.

Nelson blocked the strike and physically escorted Mccullough to the ground. Nelson then released Mccullough after he promised to stop his aggression.

“After Mccullough was released, he pulled out a 9mm handgun from his waistband, shot Nelson twice and pistol-whipped him to the ground,” said Lt. Bandish.

Nelson was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Mccullough is currently in the Brevard County Jail with no bond and charged with attempted murder.
