UPDATE: Dead Body Found In Water Near Ballard Park, Melbourne Police Investigating

Person Identified as 23-year-old Rico Malique Arocha

Local authorities are conducting a death investigation after a male body was found in the water near Ballard Park on Monday, Dec. 11, according to Lt. Byron Barnes of the Melbourne Police Department.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Local authorities are conducting a death investigation after a male body was found in the water near Ballard Park on Monday, Dec. 11, according to Lt. Byron Barnes of the Melbourne Police Department.

Investigators have identified the body as 23-year-old Rico Malique Arocha from Sebastian.

Police say Arocha had been reported missing since Friday, Dec. 8 after he traveled to Melbourne to go fishing. Rico’s family has been notified.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of death.

The Melbourne Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is asking any potential witnesses who may have relevant information on this case contact Detective Ian Mitchell at 321-608-6452.
