BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA (WFTV) – Cooler air was in place Friday across Central Florida — a precursor to a much colder air mass that will move in during the weekend and several days thereafter.

Friday will be another gloomy day across Central Florida. Thick clouds will dominate. Temperatures could still climb into the low to mid-70s, and some regions might near the 80s.

The warmth is courtesy of the southwest flow, which will aid the development of showers and even some thunderstorms after sunset.

Channel 9 certified meteorologist Brian Shields said Friday that storms will move from western portions of Central Florida to the region’s eastern portions. They’re expected to clear by 4 a.m. Saturday.
