West Melbourne Police Seek Dollar Tree Armed Robbery Suspect, Release Composite Sketch

BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The West Melbourne police are seeking an armed robbery suspect in connection with an incident at Dollar Tree in the Hammock Landings Mall on Friday.

“On Friday December 1, at 7:50 p.m., a suspect entered the Dollar Tree in the Hammock Landings Mall, located at 215 Palm Bay Road, Unit #163 and proceeded to the check-out registers,” said Captain Richard Cordeau, Public Information Office of the West Melbourne Police Department.

“The suspect took a grape soda from the cooler and went to pay with two dollars. When the cashier opened the register drawer, the male pulled a knife and demanded all the paper money from the register. The store clerk refused to comply, closed the register, and told the manager to call the police.”

According to Capt.Cordeau, the suspect fled from the store after getting onto a bicycle and leaving south through the parking lot. A composite of the suspect was completed and is being distributed to the public.

The suspect is described as a black male, medium build, with no facial hair, wearing black jeans and black shirt. The suspect has a small scar on the right side of his face above his lip.
