Eastern Florida State Basketball Host Afternoon Doubleheader At Titan Field House

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College basketball will host a doubleheader of basketball on Saturday afternoon at Titan Field House.

The day begins with the women’s basketball team hosting Santa Fe College at 2 p.m. in a battle of two of the top five 3-point shooting teams in Region 8. Santa Fe has made 162 3-pointers in 19 games this season, the best in Region 8. Santa Fe is 11-8 and have won four straight games heading into Saturday’s matchup with the Titans.

The Titans have won four straight and are 14-3 on the season, led by Alexandrine Obouh Fegue who is averaging 17.3 points and 11 rebounds on the season.

Ieva Spigule is coming off a 23-point performance in which she hit eight of 10 3-pointers and is one of the best 3-point shooters in Region 8, hitting 50.7 percent of them.

The game will be shown live on WEFS-TV at 2 p.m. and will be live online at efsctitanscom/webcast

Then at 4 p.m. the men’s basketball team will host the Florida State College at Jacksonville in a Mid-Florida Conference matchup.

The Titans come into the game 17-2 overall and 0-1 in the Mid-Florida Conference after a road loss against the College of Central Florida last weekend.

Sophomore point guard Ahmed Ali comes into the contest averaging 19.9 points per game, which is tied for second in Region 8. Ali has made 70 3-pointers this season, which is the most in Region 8 while teammate Nathanael Jack has made 67 which is third-best in the region.

Sophomore Eli Abaev comes into the matchup with FSC-Jacksonville second in the region in rebounding, averaging 9.9 per game.

Florida State College at Jacksonville is 6-10 overall and 0-2 in the conference and is led by the trio of Malcolm Richardson, Ronald Taylor and Josh Scott who are all averaging 16 points or better in conference games this season.

Titan Field House is located on the Melbourne campus and admission is free.
