BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – With freeze warnings for the Space Coast, tonight is a good night for tips and staying warm under a blanket.
Dress in layers, bring pets inside and check your smoke alarm. Heaters need space, so give them an at least three-foot clearance from kids and anything flammable.
The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Freeze Warning, which is in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday.
TEMPERATURE: Early morning low temperatures are expected in the upper 20s to lower 30s across much of east central Florida. Similar low temperatures are expected tonight across the area. Temperatures at or below freezing can kill sensitive vegetation and may freeze exposed water pipes.
IMPACTS: Portable plants may need to be brought indoors to a warmer location, or considering covering sensitive vegetation as needed. Small animals should be adequately cared for or brought indoors if needed.
