ORLANDO, FLORIDA – To celebrate their undefeated season, the UCF Knights (13-0) will be holding a National Championship parade Sunday afternoon hosted by Walt Disney World.
After their 34-27 win over SEC Runner-Up Auburn on New Years Day in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, UCF President John Hitt and AD Danny White have made it clear they believe their team is the true National Champion of College Football this season.
“Our undefeated, national champion Knights are an inspiration. They battled adversity, lit up scoreboards and created a defining moment for UCF: perfection. Congratulations,” said UCF President John Hitt.
.@UCFDannyWhite You gonna pay the coaches their national championship bonuses or nah?

Of course we are! That’s what National Championship programs do. Our coaches were informed of that earlier this week. #ChargeOn https://t.co/1iIoVfAnb7

The Knights were left out of the College Football Playoff selection despite their undefeated record and AAC championship title. UCF only finished No. 12 in the College Football Playoff Committee’s Rankings following their thrilling AAC championship game winner.
Instead, the two teams who will play for the College Football Playoff National Championship next Monday night will be two teams, Georgia and Alabama, that were beat in the regular season by the team UCF defeated in the Peach Bowl, the Auburn Tigers.
Auburn manhandled two No. 1 teams in Georgia on Nov. 11 by a score of 40-17 and undefeated Alabama on Nov. 25 to earn a trip to the SEC Championship game. The Auburn Tigers would go on to lose a rematch with Georgia in the SEC Championship game 28-7.
Regardless, UCF plans to party in The Magic Kingdom streets Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. in a National Championship parade. The parade will take place the day before Georgia and Alabama play in the College Football Playoff National Championship game at Mercedes-Benz Dome in Atlanta.
The same location UCF beat Auburn on New Years Day.
Coincidence?
“We’ll line up and go against anybody. I’ll take our ball club against anybody in the country”
