BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – On Saturday, members of our agency participated in the Florida Key Lime Pie Festival by displaying some of the incredible resources we use to protect our community.
The annual event that took place at the Veteran’s Memorial Center in Merritt Island drew thousands of visitors to the Space Coast who each got a chance to see our Bomb Unit, our Mounted Posse, our Community Relations Unit, our Aviation Unit, our TRON Bike donated by Parker Brothers, and even our newest Motor Unit that was donated by Space Coast Harley-Davidson.
In addition to interacting with the thousands of visitors who attended the festival, I had the chance to take part in making the “World’s Largest Key Lime Pie” that was over 12’ in diameter and filled with over 1100 lbs of ingredients.
As a somewhat “Pie Expert” I was on hand to certify the size of the pie so that it could meet the standards of being named the “Worlds Largest Key Lime Pie.”
In addition to making the “Worlds Largest Key Lime Pie” the event served as a fundraiser for the Veteran’s Memorial Center that does so much to honor our heroes, our veterans!
Please join me in thanking Louie Moorehead and the staff of the Florida Key Lime Pie Company for hosting the annual event and to everyone who attended the event to support our Veterans.
