ALERT: Brevard County Utility Services Report Force Main Break on S. Patrick Drive

Pumper trucks are being utilized to transport sewage to the County's Wastewater Treatment Plant

Utility Services has discovered a force main break near 1390 S. Patrick Drive, prompting notices to residents of the area to avoid swimming, fishing or wading in canals in the area until further notice.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Utility Services has discovered a force main break near 1390 S. Patrick Drive, prompting notices to residents of the area to avoid swimming, fishing or wading in canals in the area until further notice.

Pumper trucks are being utilized to transport sewage to the County’s South-Central Wastewater Treatment Plant in Viera after it leaked from the force main on S. Patrick Drive into a storm drain that leads into a canal between Cinnamon Court and Island View Drive.

The canal flows south between Island View Drive and Lansing Drive to Venetian Way. Reverse notifications have been issued to 29 residents in the areas affected along the canals.

The cause of the break is unknown at this time. The leak has been stopped and repairs are underway, but Brevard County Utility Services is advising residents to avoid the canals for recreation.

Please keep pets away from the water as well. Signs are also being posted in the area.
