BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A “Designed-Focused” Tapestry Collection hotel by Hilton is planned near Downtown Melbourne, which is expected to open by 2020.

The 156-room stylish hotel will be the only one in Melbourne within walking distance to dining, shopping and nightlife.

According to developers, the new property will bring “casual sophistication to the heart of Florida’s Space Coast, minutes away from the Orlando Melbourne International Airport.”

“A rooftop level with stunning wrap-around water and city views will feature a bar lounge and meeting spaces equipped with state-of-the-art technology, providing an unparalleled experience in the heart of the historic downtown district.”

The property will include a three-level garage that will be open to the public and provide many more parking spaces that are required for the hotel.

The economic impact of the project includes the creation of 200 jobs during construction, and after completion, more than 50 permanent jobs, generating the infusion of more than $50 million annually to the local economy

Willow Street Capital, Duke Hospitality, The Charre Group, and their capital partners, through a joint venture, announced the franchise agreement with Hilton for the new Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel.

“We are proud of the public-private partnership we have established with the City of Melbourne to make this outstanding project possible,” said Miguel Rivera, principal of Willow Street Capital, the group leading the development.

The signing represents the first property in Florida for Hilton’s 14th brand created for travelers looking for a unique, upscale hotel experience. The property will join Tapestry Collection hotels in Washington, DC, Chicago, and Seattle, among other locations that have recently been announced.
