BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College baseball team rallied to defeat Lake Sumter 7-6 Sunday afternoon at Bruce Bochy Field.

Dylan Espinal had a huge day for the Titans, going 3-for-3, including his first home run of the season that sparked the Titans.

Down 6-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Espinal stepped to the plate with one out and smacked a 3-1 pitch over the left field wall and into the water. The 2-run home run cut the lead to 6-4. Kevin Silva would later score to cut the lead to 6-5.

Then after reliever JP Williams had a 1-2-3 inning, Colin Rutledge led off the bottom of the seventh with an infield single. Paul Castillo laid down the sacrifice bunt and then Luis Castillo was hit by a pitch, bringing up Espinal. Espinal delivered, hitting a single that scored Rutledge to tie the game.

Silva laid down a nice bunt down the third base line that scored Cabrera and gave the Titans the 7-6 lead.

That was all Williams would need as he would strike out three and allowed two hits in 3 2/3 innings of work for his third win.

Silva finished with three hits while Castillo and Cabrera each went 2-for-2, scoring twice.

The Titans will hit the road on Monday, traveling to Florida State College at Jacksonville for a 4 p.m. first pitch. The team will be back at Bruce Bochy Field on Thursday, hosting Polk State at 5 p.m. and will be televised live on WEFS-TV and online at efsctitans.com/webcast
