FHP: Stolen Nissan Crashes into Eric Spears of Titusville, Transported To Hospital in Serious Condition

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a stolen 2015 Nissan four-door, driven by a yet to be identified white male, was traveling west on Cuyler Street at US 1 in Mims as Eric Spears of Titusville was traveling northbound on US 1 when the Nissan pulled out into the direct path of Spears’ 2018 Chevy pickup.

BREVARD COUNTY • MIMS, FLORIDA – The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a stolen 2015 Nissan four-door, driven by a yet to be identified white male, was traveling west on Cuyler Street at US 1 in Mims as Eric Spears of Titusville was traveling northbound on US 1 when the Nissan pulled out into the direct path of Spears’ 2018 Chevy pickup.

According to Sgt. Kim Montes of the Florida Highway Patrol, Spears swerved in an attempt to avoid the stolen Nissan, but the front of the Nissan struck the front of Spears’ pickup truck.

“The two occupants of Nissan fled the scene on foot, both were described as white males,” said Montes in a release.

Spears, 32, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries and this crash remains under investigation.
