BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Teenagers can get a crash course on adulthood during the UF/IFAS Extension Brevard County-sponsored “Living on My Own” course on Monday, Feb.19, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Living on My Own is simulation-based training that takes 13-18 year-olds through a month-in-the-life of a 25-year-old.

Teens learn job skills, budgeting, check-writing, making deposits, balancing a checkbook, paying taxes and paying bills.

Participants are then put through a simulation where their newly acquired skills are put to the test.

The training will take place at the UF/IFAS Extension Brevard County office in Cocoa. The cost is $15.
