UPDATE: Teen Killed In I-95 Crash With Pole Friday Afternoon In South Brevard

18-year-old Gia Katelin Alban from Kissimmee killed

Florida Highway Patrol has released the identity of the driver killed Friday afternoon on I-95 in South Brevard as 18-year-old Gia Katelin Alban from Kissimmee.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol has released the identity of the driver killed Friday afternoon on I-95 at mile marker 162 in South Brevard as 18-year-old Gia Katelin Alban from Kissimmee.

The crash happened around 2:55 p.m.

According to the investigation, Alban was heading northbound on I-95 near Micco when she lost control of her 2001 Toyota Prius and crashed into a pole off I-95.

Troopers say Alban’s vehicle suffered tire tread separation and was the reason she lost control of the vehicle.

Alban was pronounced dead at the scene.

Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
