(WPEC) –  A 33-year-old Florida man was arrested for reportedly attacking an ambulance crew on the way to the hospital Sunday night, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies who rushed to the scene found David W. Parsons putting a paramedic into a choke hold on the side of the road, according to the sheriff’s office. He was taken into custody seconds after deputies’ arrival.

Deputies responded to the call around 10:24 p.m. Sunday near the 720 block of East Taylor Road, where he found Parsons straddling one paramedic while the other was trying to pull him off, the sheriff’s office said.

When Parsons refused to stop, he quickly found himself on the receiving end of a deputy’s Taser.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Department Tweeted out the video and below statement at 4:05 p.m. Monday afternoon.
