BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Last week, I had the pleasure of recognizing Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School senior, Ian Moore, as the recipient of our Brevard County Sheriff’s Office “Great Kids” Award.

Ian was nominated by his AFJROTC Instructor Master Sergeant Hope Sanders who recognized Ian as not only a great kid but a great future leader in our community!!

As a fourth-year cadet in the AFJROTC Cadet Corps, Ian has demonstrated great qualities of military leadership.

For the past three years, Ian served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor, the Personnel Officer, and the Color Guard Commander.

Last school year, Ian was appointed as the Corps Commander, responsible for the management and leadership of the Corps of Cadets with over 120 members and is now holding the rank of Cadet Colonel.

Ian has been awarded 23 commendations including the Air Force Association Outstanding Junior Award and is an active leader in the Honor Guard. Ian balances his commitment to excelling in the AFJROTC program and his academic obligations with perseverance beyond his years.

Please join me in congratulating Ian for being a “Great Kid” and thanking his AFJROTC Commander for nominating him and the entire staff at Space Coast Jr./Sr. High for recognizing Ian.
