BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech’s Sam Daniel has been tabbed a 2018 Division II Bulletin Honorable Mention All-American.

This is the first career All-American nod for Daniel.

The senior was named to the 2018 National Association of Basketball Coaches’ (NABC) DII South All-District Team and voted to the 2017-18 All-Sunshine State Conference Second Team earlier this month. He was named to the All-SSC First Team during his junior season in 2016-17.

The Kingsland, Georgia native was one of the most prolific scorers in the SSC this season, ranking second in the league and 21st in the nation at 21.9 points per game. Daniel was the top three-point shooter in the SSC with 97 as he averaged 3.3 made threes per game and ranked fourth in the SSC with 1,017 minutes played.

Daniel’s 97 treys in 2017-18 set a new single season program record. He ended his career with 1,647 career points, while also etching his name in the school record books as the men’s basketball program’s all-time leader in three-pointers made with 247.
