BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – New Palm Bay Fire Rescue Firefighter T. Acker is quickly becoming the department’s Animal Whisperer and now has two animal rescues in just a couple months.

First, she saved a kitten from a storm drain, and then, on Sunday, she rescued a dog that was running through the area of the old bowling alley on Port Malabar Boulevard in Station 1’s area and was “swallowed by the ground” when it fell into an old uncovered drain.

Firefighter Acker, with the assistance of her A-Shift partners, was able to coax the dog out of the long pipe run, rescue it from the drain, and return it to its grateful owner.
