BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Timothy Eugene Grabill was born on November 29, 1954, in Columbus, Ohio. He left this world in the early morning hours of March 10, 2018, with his loving wife, Marla, by his side.

Tim and his family moved to Titusville in 1958, and he attended school here, graduating from Titusville High School in 1972. His career with the Titusville Fire Department, now Titusville Fire and Emergency Services, began on April 1, 1974.

He was hired by Chief Jim “Smokey” Brown and served the department with dedication and honor for 25 years, as Assistant Chief under Chief Richard Cherry. Tim retired on March 31, 1999, as the Administrative Support Chief.

Because he was so young at the time of his retirement from the Fire Service, he had the opportunity to experience employment in other lines of work. He installed video cameras for the Titusville Police Department, worked as a Traffic Hearing Clerk for the Brevard County Clerk of Court’s Office and finished out his working career with Brevard County Tax Collector Lisa Cullen.

When Tim and Marla got married, he took on the responsibility of being the father of, and raising to adulthood, not only his daughter, Jessica, but also Marla’s two daughters, Melissa and Jamie Sherrer.

Tim enjoyed all things related to cars and motors, movies with a meaningful plot, good scotch, great jazz, adventures with his family and friends, and spending happy times in his workshop; but his greatest joys in life were his grandchildren.

Tim leaves behind his soulmate and wife of 29 years, Marla Meyer Grabill and his loving daughters and their families: Melissa and Mike Miller of Hanahan, South Carolina, and their children, Delaney Sherrer, Riley Miller and Ari Miller; Jessica and James Taylor of Titusville, and their daughter, Jordyn Taylor; and Jamie and James Powell of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and their children, Hayden Meadows, Camden Powell, Patrick Powell, and Reagan Powell.

Tim is also survived by his mother, Alice Grabill and his sister, Teri Matthews who live in Port St. John; his brother Chester Grabill of Cocoa; and his brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Kathy Stoner of New Port Richey, Florida. He was predeceased by his father, Charles “Chet” Grabill.

Tim fought a long and courageous battle against melanoma. In his memory, please schedule an appointment with your dermatologist.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 17 at 10 a.m. at the North Brevard Funeral Home, located at 1450 Norwood Avenue in Titusville, Florida.
