BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa Police announced Monday afternoon the two burglary suspects wanted for burglary and criminal mischief at Cambridge Elementary School have been surrendered over to police by their parents.

Authorities say the suspects are identified as juveniles; a 14-year-old male and 16-year-old male.

“The parents saw photos of the suspects on the news and surrendered the children, ages 14 and 16, for the crime that occurred on Saturday afternoon,” said Yvonne Martinez of the Cocoa Police Department.

Police say just after 6 a.m. Monday, patrol officers responded to the school after receiving a call from an employee reporting multiple classrooms had been ransacked.

“Further investigation revealed nearly every classroom had been broken into with property destroyed and multiple iPads taken,” said Martinez.

Both juveniles are facing charges of burglary, grand theft (4 counts) and felony criminal mischief.

The juveniles have been released to their parents and will appear in court at a later date.
