ORLANDO, FLORIDA – The UCF Knights of the American Athletic Conference and the Louisville Cardinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference have announced a home-and-home series between the two schools’ football programs.
The Knights will travel to Louisville on Sept. 18, 2021. The Cardinals will visit Spectrum Stadium for a contest vs. UCF on Sept. 17, 2022.
UCF and Louisville have met just twice on the gridiron in the past.
The Cardinals took a 42-21 victory in 1985 when the Knights played at their NCAA Division II level. It was UCF’s first-ever contest vs. an NCAA Division I-A (now FBS) team.
UCF’s victory in the series is one of the most memorable in school history. The Knights traveled to No. 6 Louisville on Oct. 18, 2013, for an American Athletic Conference contest.
After trailing 28-7, UCF scored 24 straight points to take a 31-28 lead.
The Cardinals scored with 3:00 remaining in the contest to go up 35-31. But Blake Bortles led the Knights on a game-winning touchdown drive, capped by a 2-yard scoring strike to Jeff Godfrey, to lift UCF to a 38-35 win.
It was UCF’s first-ever victory over a Top 10 team.
