BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Melbourne Police Department said that there have been several instances in which counterfeit $100 bills have been passed at businesses within the city.

“This isn’t exclusive to just our city and jurisdictions all over the country are experiencing the same thing,” MPD officials said in a Facebook post.

“One trend, in particular, we have seen and merchants need to be aware of reference counterfeit money is the words ‘FOR MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY’ displayed on the bill.”

Some good resource material for merchants to use for educating their employees can be found through the U.S. Currency Education Program at USCurrency.gov
