The Brevard County School Board is hosting a series of public town halls to hear more from the community before deciding on a proposal to arm staff guardians who could stop school shooters.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County School Board is hosting a series of public town halls to hear more from the community before deciding on a proposal to arm staff guardians who could stop school shooters.

The board tentatively will vote on the proposal May 8.

The public can attend any of the following 90-minute town-hall style meetings:

Tuesday, May 1

Brevard County School Board, Viera *PLEASE NOTE: This location has been changed from Rockledge High School

District 4-Matt Susin

7- 8:30 p.m.

Monday, May 7

– Jackson Middle School, Titusville

– District 1-Misty Belford

• 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Those who wish to speak during the 90-minute public town hall meetings should keep in mind:

· Speakers will each receive up to three minutes to present their questions or comments.

· In case of large crowds, not everyone who signs up will get an opportunity to speak within the scheduled 90 minutes.
