Eastern Florida Baseball Falls 7-5 In Final Home Game Against Broward College

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Broward College scored twice in the top of the ninth inning to spoil Eastern Florida State College’s final home game of the season as the Titans fell 7-5 Wednesday evening at Bruce Bochy Field.
The Titans struck first in the bottom of the second inning as Kevin Silva hit a two-run triple, scoring Andres Ramos and Jasson Corniel who had both singled. Broward would tie the game in the top of the third inning on Eddie Arteaga’s two-run home run.
But the lead would be short-lived as Jakob Zarrello hit his second home run of the season in the bottom of the fifth inning to give the Titans a 3-2 lead. Broward would retake the lead n the top of the fifth inning, scorng twice for a 4-3 lead.
Silva and Dylan Espinal ech scored in the bottom of the fifth inning as the Titans led 5-4 but Broward would tie it in the bottom of the fifth.
It looked as if the Titans would take the lead again in the bottom of the eighth inning as Paul Castillo crushed a pitch over the right-field wall but it was called a foul ball. Castillo would single later but the Titans couldn’t take the lead.
Broward would score twice in the top of the ninth inning to make it 7-5.
Eastern Florida State College will wrap up the regular season with three games this weekend at Broward College. Friday’s start will begin at 5 p.m. with a doubleheader scheduled to start at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
