Eastern Florida State College has increased security patrols on all four of its campuses following a threat about a possible shooting on the Melbourne Campus on Wednesday, May 2.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College has increased security patrols on all four of its campuses following a threat about a possible shooting on the Melbourne Campus on Wednesday, May 2.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and Melbourne Police Department are investigating the threat, which was found written on a restroom wall, and do not believe it is credible.

However, the college and law enforcement agencies take all threats with the utmost seriousness.

As a result, the EFSC Security Force has increased its armed patrols on the Titusville, Cocoa, Melbourne and Palm Bay campuses as a precaution.

The Sheriff’s Office and Titusville, Cocoa, Melbourne and Palm Bay police have also heightened their patrols on those campuses.

Final exams will continue as planned today and throughout the week on all EFSC campuses.
