BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech’s Daniel Flock has been selected the Sunshine State Conference’s Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player is the Week for Apr. 9-15. This is Flock’s second time receiving the award this season and the fourth of his career.

The Ellicott City, Maryland product made 23 saves in two games to help lead No. 15 Florida Tech to a pair of wins over SSC opponents last week.

The victories extend the Panthers’ (9-4) current win streak to a school-record eight straight games as the Crimson & Gray improve to 6-0 in SSC play and become the first men’s lacrosse team in league history to win six conference games in the regular season.

The recent success has propelled Florida Tech up the national rankings to No. 13 in the USILA Coaches poll and No. 9 in the Nike/US Lacrosse poll.

Flock made four saves in Florida Tech’s 17-3 rout of Embry-Riddle on Wednesday, Apr. 11. The junior then tied a school-record by making 19 saves while facing a season-high 43 shots in the Panthers’ 15-14 road victory over Florida Southern on Saturday, Apr. 14.

Through 13 games, Flock ranks second in the SSC in both saves (148) and saves per game (11.38). He is also fourth in the conference in goals allowed per game (9.36) and saves percentage (.550).
