Melbourne Police Arrest Robert McGlothlin For Battery, Kicked Emergency Room Doctor In Face

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne police officers arrested Robert Kenny McGlothlin, 55, Saturday afternoon at Holmes Regional Medical Center in response to a battery on hospital personnel.
According to a Melbourne police report, McGlothlin kicked an emergency room doctor in the face and punched a security officer in the face after being brought to the hospital for treatment. While being instructed to stay in the bed for treatment, McGlothlin became irate and started punching and kicking.
McGlothlin, according to the report, was depressed and stated he wanted to harm himself. He was then Baker Acted, which is a means of providing individuals with emergency services and temporary detention for mental health evaluation and treatment.
McGlothlin was charged with two counts of Battery Law Enforcement Officer Firefighter EMT Etc. and is being held in the Brevard County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
