Port Canaveral waterfront restaurant and bar Milliken’s Reef located at the Cove has closed its doors, according to employees and vendors who were turned away on Monday morning.

BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – Port Canaveral waterfront restaurant and bar Milliken’s Reef, located at The Cove has closed its doors, according to employees and vendors who were turned away on Monday morning.

Milliken’s Reef opened at Port Canaveral in 2008 and was operated by Rhoda and Jason Solano of the Lloyd Miliken family.

Space Coast Daily left a voice message for Jason Solano but has not received a call back in regard to the circumstances surrounding the closure.

The restaurant was among the three anchor nightspots, along with Rusty’s and Grills on the water at Port Canaveral.

Several operators in the local restaurant industry speculated that another operation would most likely take over the prime waterfront location that overlooks the west turning basin and cruise ship terminals.

Port Canaveral’s Director of Communications and Public Affairs Steve Linden said that he could not comment on the closure as Miliken’s is still officially a tenant of the Port, who owns the land on which the restaurant was built.

Lloyd Milliken originally opened Lloyd’s at the Port in the early 1990s, which is now Fishlips – now one of the Port’s most popular restaurants.

This is a developing story, stay tuned to Space Coast Daily for updates.
