BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Palm Bay High School Junior and Boy Scout Troop 323 member Caleb Cohen recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Cohen has been in Cub Scouts and Boy Scout for the past 11 years and Eagle Scout is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America.

As part of the requirements for Eagle Scout, Cohen planned and carried out a service project with the help of his troop, friends, family and congregation of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Melbourne.

The project came to the aid elderly persons in Melbourne who needed help taking care of their yard and replacing fencing. The project required more than 100 man hours and extensive fundraising to complete.

The designation “Eagle Scout” was founded more than 100 years ago and only four percent of Boy Scouts are granted this rank.
