WEATHER ALERT: Thunderstorms Roll Through Brevard County With Heavy Rain

UPDATE: weather advisory lasts until 10:15 p.m. ET, per National Weather Service

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A significant weather advisory with severe thunderstorms has been issued for Brevard County Saturday night and has been extended until 10:15 p.m. ET, according to the National Weather Service.
The system has been tracked by Doppler radar carrying strong thunderstorms with wind gusts up to 50 mph and moving to the east at 50 mph.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
As a reminder, lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
Some areas may see some small hail with the system.
