BCSO: Filipowicz has now been charged with four DUIs

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Dale Kenneth Filipowicz, 48, of Merritt Island, was arrested Monday evening about 7 p.m. in Cocoa Beach by Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputies and charged with Flee/Elude LEO With Lights/Siren, DUI 4th or Subsequent Offense, DUI Property Damage/Personal Injury, Leave Scene Crash w/Prop Damage and Resist Officer WO Violence.
The above BCSO cruiser dash cam footage caught Filipowicz trying to elude Deputies on A1A on Cocoa Beach after a chase that began in Merritt Island.
After a lengthy chase, Deputies performed a PIT maneuver to bring Filipowicz’s Kia to a stop. The PIT maneuver, or Pursuit Intervention Technique, is a pursuit tactic by which a pursuing car can force a fleeing car to abruptly turn sideways, causing the driver to lose control and stop.
Filipowicz, who now been charged with four DUIs is in the Brevard County Jail on a $61,000 bond.
