Driver of the hit-and-run vehicle still wanted

Florida Highway Patrol are investigating a hit-and-run crash that involved a vehicle and bicycle Sunday night on Palm Bay Rd. and Hollywood Blvd.

**UPDATE**BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The bicyclist has been identified 51-year-old Jason Esposito from Hallandale Beach, Florida.

BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol are investigating a hit-and-run crash that involved a vehicle and bicycle Sunday night on Palm Bay Rd. and Hollywood Blvd.

The result of the crash killed a 51-year-old bicyclist from Hallandale Beach, Florida.

According to a report by FHP, the unidentified driver was driving 2016 Infiniti headed westbound on Palm Bay Rd. around 11:55 p.m. when the driver of the vehicle struck the bicyclist heading westbound in the bike lane.

Troopers say the driver of the car left the scene, but abandoned the car not far from the crash scene.

The identity of the bicyclist will be released when the the next of kin has been notified.

Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash and the driver of the vehicle is wanted by authorities.
