ORLANDO, FLORIDA – The 2017-2018 National Champions Alabama Crimson Tide will begin their quest to defend their title in Orlando against the Louisville Cardinals at Camping World Stadium Saturday, September 1.

Tickets to the 2018 Camping World Kickoff game, featuring the defending national champion Alabama Crimson Tide against the Louisville Cardinals, will go on sale in the spring.

The neutral-site season opener is the second announced game in a multi-year agreement between Florida Citrus Sports (FCSports) and ESPN Events, a division of ESPN, to host major neutral-site, regular-season college football games in Orlando’s Camping World Stadium.

KEY NOTES

– Game will be shown on ESPN’s family of networks
– Alabama leads all-time series against Louisville 2-1
– Kickoff Time: To Be Announced

Florida Citrus Sports members will receive priority access to tickets before general public sales begin.

The Tide and Cardinals have met just three times previous, with the most recent match happening in 1991 and Alabama leading the all-time series, 2-1.

Alabama has played twice in Orlando before. They won the 1995 CompUSA Florida Citrus Bowl, 24-7, over Ohio State and the 2011 Capital One Bowl, 49-7, over Michigan State. The 2018 Kickoff will be the Tide’s seventh consecutive neutral-site season opener.

This will be the third time the Cardinals will visit Orlando. Led by quarterback Teddy Bridgewater in 2013, they won the 2013 Russell Athletic Bowl, 36-9, against Miami.

A return trip three years later led by Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Lamar Jackson was less successful, as the Cards fell to LSU in the Citrus Bowl, 29-9.
