BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College is hosting the P.J. Wilson and Henry Scott Youth Golf Camp June 11-21 for the 26th straight season.
The free minority youth golf program teaches youth the basic skills of golf, including golf course etiquette, conduct, and sportsmanship as well as values for successful living such as self-confidence and goal setting.
The camp will be from June 11 to June 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday through Thursday and is open to children ages 10 to 17 with pre-registration required.
The golf camp will be held at the Eastern Florida State College Fred Gay Golf Academy at 3570 State Road 524 in Cocoa and drinks and snacks will be provided.
The camp started in 1992 with assistance from Scott and Wilson, two African American golf professionals in Brevard County.
For years it was best known as the Minority Golf Camp because of its efforts to reach out to minorities, but it’s always been open to all young people.
Youth must pre-register before June 1, 2018 and the form can be found in the Fan Zone/Camps section on efsctitans.com or during an orientation session on Thursday, May 31 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. held at the EFSC Cocoa Campus Community Dining Room, Bldg. 11, 1519 Clearlake Rd, Cocoa, FL, 32922.
