BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Runaway juveniles Austin Barton and Selena Appenzeller, who had been reported as missing since last February 20, have been located overnight in Palm Bay.

According to Palm Bay Police Public Information Officer Lt. Steve Bland, the two juveniles were located after an officer conducting a security check observed Barton riding a bike in the area.

Barton then fled into a nearby wooded area and was later located with the assistance of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office helicopter STAR unit.

“STAR responded and conducted an area search and observed two subjects in the wooded area northeast of Shire Mobile home park along the railroad tracks,” said Lt. Bland.

“STAR guided officers to the subjects, who were taken into custody without incident. Investigators are now conducting interviews regarding thefts and burglaries in the area.”
