BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA– Once again, the community’s response to a Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post has led to the arrest of a burglary suspect.

North Precinct General Crimes agents recently arrested 29-year-old Elijah Manradge-Hewitt, of Ocoee, FL., charging him with Burglary and Grand Theft.

Hewitt was taken to the Brevard County Jail where he is being held with No Bond.

The arrest was related to a burglary that actually occurred in December of 2016, at an address in Titusville. The victim’s doorbell video surveillance camera alerted him to the presence of two unknown males at his front door.

The males could be seen looking through the windows to determine if anyone was home.

After receiving no response, they entered the home and removed personal valuables. Images recorded by the victim’s surveillance video were subsequently posted on the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

As a result of the response, Agents were able to establish the identity of one of the suspects as Elijah Manradge-Hewitt within days of the burglary; however, probable cause could not be established at the time.

In late 2017, agents learned that Hewitt had yet again been involved in burglaries in other jurisdictions.

BCSO Agents collaborated with Detectives from Marion County and obtained additional information that ultimately linked Hewett to the Brevard County burglary.
