Brevard Sheriff’s Office Arrest Burglary, Theft Suspect Hiding From Deputies

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Recently, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a citizen who was concerned after hearing their doorbell ring several times.

The concerned citizen then checked their video security system where they discovered an unknown male had been inside their unlocked vehicle prior to coming to their door. The citizen then confronted the subject who fled into a wooded area where he attempted to hide.

As a result numerous Deputies responded to the scene including Sergeant Greg Smith, Corporal Mike Kornhauser, Deputy Adrian Thomas, Deputy Brian Jones, and Deputy Matt Murphy who quickly surrounded the area. Within the hour, the Deputies had located the suspect hiding in dense vegetation.

The Deputies placed the subject under arrest for Burglary and Theft. With the citizen’s detailed description as well as the video surveillance recording of the crime in progress, Deputies were able to arrest 18-year-old Gage Lynch of Melbourne. Lynch was transported to the Brevard County Jail Complex as a result of the quick action on the part of the victim and our team’s response to the incident.
