Cocoa Man Arrested After Threatening To Shoot Up Walt Disney World For Facebook Likes

Two Facebook Users credited with reporting Eitel's post to authorities

Derek Thomas Eitel, 23, was arrested on Tuesday after he threatened to shoot up Disney and hang himself if he got five Facebook likes on his post.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Cocoa man on Tuesday after he admitted to threatening to shoot up Walt Disney World if he received enough Facebook likes on his post.

Derek Thomas Eitel, 23, was arrested on Tuesday after he threatened to shoot up Disney and hang himself if he got five Facebook likes on his post.

According to a report by WFTV, Eitel’s parents told deputies that their son did not have access to their guns, which were locked up inside their house.

BCSO deputies are crediting two users on Facebook for reporting the threat and bringing it to their attention.

Eitel later admitted to writing the post.

Eitel is currently in the Brevard County Jail and being held on a $100,000 bond.

He appeared in court on Wednesday and his next court date has been set for July 17 in front of Judge Michelle Baker.
