LITTLE LEAGUE ACTION CONTINUES TONIGHT ON SPACE COAST DAILY TV

SPACE COAST DAILY TV: The Friday Night Locker Room’s Orville Susong and Steve Wilson were on the call as Cocoa’s offense, led by Stephen Hazel and Shelly Frye, who both hit doubles, and pitcher Dalton Ruth had 10 strikeouts as Cocoa LL won 13-2.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA– All-Star Baseball, ages eight through 10 continued at Holder Park Sunday with the early game featuring the visitors from Mims Little League taking on the home team, Merritt Island LL.

Merritt Island took control of the scoreboard early and never let up. Tytus Moore, Ty Brandes, Liam Miller and Cayden Chimelenski each had hits for the black and gold.

Cooper Janke pitched 3 no-hit innings and struck out 4 to lead his team to a 15-0 win.

Indian River City Vs. Rockledge

The late game at Holder Park saw the visiting team from Indian River City LL playing the home team from Rockledge LL.

Jonathan Wilson and Brayden Dickey each had hits for IRC but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with Rockledge. Brady Kerns had two hits while Logan Schooley, Dylan Williams and Ryan Lee each added singles.

Josh Hodges worked 4 innings on the hill, striking out 4, to gain the 11-1 victory for Rockledge.

Major All-Stars 

The Major Baseball pool in Port St. John kicked off at Space Coast Sports Complex with the visiting team from Port St. John LL taking on the home team from Indian River City LL.

Starting pitcher Ronnie Adams threw 2 strong innings with 3 strikeouts as PSJ pitchers combined for a no-hit shutout. Nick Wimberly set the tone early for the PSJ offense belting a 3-run homer.

Clint Sturgill went 2-for-3 with three RBI’s and Jacob Loeffler added two hits and an RBI to give PSJ the 14-0 victory.

Meanwhile, the Major Baseball pool at Rockledge’s McLarty Park continued with two games Sunday. In the first game, the visiting Space Coast LL All-Stars met the home team from Cocoa LL.

Devin Deblois and Ajay Balkaran both scored for Space Coast. But, Cocoa’s offense was led by Stephen Hazel and Shelly Frye who both hit doubles, while on defense, Dalton Ruth pitched 10 strikeouts as Cocoa LL won 13-2.

In the late game at McLarty, The visitors, Rockledge LL, squared off with Mims LL. Mims pitcher, Jace Gelinas, had four strikeouts while Rockledge’s Bryce Turner struck out six and had a no-hitter with two outs in the last inning.

That’s when Mims’ Nolan Edwards hit a single but was ultimately stranded on-base as Rockledge won 10-0.

Rockledge’s Bryce Turner and J.J. Silberzahn each hit doubles in the contest while Caden Canida hit a two-run home-run over the center field fence.
