BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – National Weather Service (NWS) is warning Brevard County residents and visitors of severe storms that are headed for the area Friday afternoon that will include heavy rain and strong winds.

NWS says the storms could include dangerous lightning, gusty winds, small hail and heavy downpours in certain areas.

Officials remind people to always seek shelter indoors when storms threaten the area.
