LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – Las Vegas Police have released dramatic footage captured on an officer’s body camera as he engaged in gunfire with suspects shooting at police while in a vehicle pursuit.

The body worn camera footage seen in this clip documents the final minutes of the chase as the suspects fire 34 shots at officers along busy streets near downtown Las Vegas, along with the conclusion of the chase in which officers used deadly force to stop the threat.

As a result, one suspect died and the other was injured.

Police identified the suspect killed as 23-year-old Fidel Miranda, while the suspect injured has been identified as 30-year-old Rene Nunez.

In the video, the officer can be heard multiple times yelling “shots fired”. After a few minutes, the pursuit ends when the suspects crashed into the wall of an elementary school.

Las Vegas Metro police Assistant Sheriff Tim Kelly says that is when Nunez got out of the vehicle and tried to run upstairs into the school, but the door was locked.

Meanwhile, the driver, Miranda, began moving toward the passenger seat of the SUV and reversed the vehicle back toward the officer’s vehicle. Police fired on Miranda where he later died at the scene. Nunez, who was also wounded, was arrested and faces several felony charges that includes a murder charge.
