Brevard Sheriff’s Office Commander Dan Singleton To Serve As New Board President For 2-1-1 Brevard Inc.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Cmdr. Dan Singleton, who leads the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office East Precinct, will serve as the new board president for 2-1-1 Brevard Inc.

Gregory DeRoy, vice president of member services at Space Coast Credit Union, will fill the role of board vice president, while David Knowlton, supervising senior accountant at Carr, Riggs & Ingram, will be the treasurer.

Immediate past president is Suzanne Sparling, executive director of communications at Eastern Florida State College.

Other board members are: Joyce Boudrie, community volunteer; Rochelle Lawandales, retired planning consultant; Seth Riddle of Space Coast Credit Union; Scott Robinson of Eisenmenger, Robinson, Blaue & Peters, P.A.; and Greg Smith of Parrish Medical Center.

2-1-1 Brevard is a nonprofit that operates a 24-hour helpline offering information, referral and crisis intervention. Callers dial 2-1-1.

About Cmdr. Dan Singleton

Commander Clifton “Dan” Singleton is a twenty-two year law enforcement veteran and currently serves as the Commander of East Precinct.

Commander Singleton holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Arts Degree in Management and Leadership from Webster University.

He has served as a patrol deputy, Special Investigations Unit agent, General Crimes Unit agent, patrol sergeant, investigative sergeant (GAMEOVER Task Force), patrol lieutenant, investigative lieutenant in both the Violent and Major Crimes divisions of Criminal Investigative Services and as a Major/Countywide Watch Commander. His career also includes an assignment to the bomb squad as an FBI certified bomb technician.

He is a graduate of the FBI-LEEDA 97thCommand Institute for Law Enforcement Executives and a graduate of the 2016 class of Leadership Brevard.

Before Tuesday’s announcement, Cmdr. Singleton sat on the Board of Directors for 2-1-1 Brevard and Space Coast early Intervention Center.
