Cocoa Police Detectives Investigating Shooting That Left One Man Critically Wounded

Cocoa police detectives and patrol officers are currently on scene investigating a shooting in which one person was wounded on Monday evening. 

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Cocoa police detectives and patrol officers are currently on the scene investigating a shooting in which one person was critically wounded Monday evening. 

According to Cocoa Police Public Information Office Yvonne Martinez, police dispatchers began receiving numerous 911 calls at approximately 8:44 p.m. Monday evening reporting a shooting at 1643 Flower Mound Lane in Cocoa.

According to Martinez, when officers arrived they found an adult black male with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the sidewalk.

Cocoa Fire medics responded and began additional life-saving measures. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where his condition is listed as critical.

Cocoa police detectives are in the process of interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence.

Cocoa Police Crime Scene Technicians are on site processing the scene.

This investigation is still active and no other information is available.
